On one side Mumbai Indians lost their opening fixture due to average bowling despite making a good total. They are now back at their own den after a couple of years which will boost their energy. Rohit Sharma needs to step up. Has been an exceptional leader for MI but at the same time hasn't come really through with the bat. Opening partnership is the crucial in T20 and MI have been lacking in this department as Rohit-Kishan's partnership Runrate was 7.92 - worst in the league. Mumbai's middle order looks fully set though with Green followed by Surya, Tilak and David. Surya has been consistent and can switch roles when needed while Tilak Varma has been the major contributor and he has done it with class.
Mumbai Indians also lack spin bowling options. Yet to find a disciplined bowler who can keep his 4 overs tight in the middle. They have had their struggles in death bowling as well where they registered worst economy of the league last season. Behrendorff or Duan Jansen may come in at Wankhede.
Probable XI : Rohit, Ishan, Green, Surya, Tilak, Tim David, N Wadhera, Shokeen, Arshad, Jofra, Chawla
(Impact : Behrendorff, Duan Jansen)
Chennai Super Kings on the other side looks quite balanced in this tournament with all bases covered apart from death bowling. Ruturaj-Conway has been the most consistent current opening pair with 3 century partnerships just in 9 Innings. It's going to be serious headache for opponent team to stop them once both settled. Ben stokes who is still to fire this season may come good today as his highest Score, highest Average and highest SR - all are against Mumbai Indians. The spin trio of Moeen, Jadeja and Santner dominated at Chepauk in the previous match. It's going to be interesting to see what they can discover on Wankhede track.
Probable XI: Ruturaj, Conway, Dube, Moeen, Stokes, Rayudu, Jadeja, Dhoni, Santner, Deepak, Hangargekar
(Impact: T Deshpande, Simarjeet Singh)
